Biography

Sofina was born to moderately religious parents but she found herself drawn to the organized nature of the Erasmian religion. Even having come from a poor family of miners Sofina was determined to pursue a religious life. She attended to her studies and excelled more than any in her class or even her academy. Sofina even went so far as to petition her local noble church leaders by presenting all her academic accolades.

Her obsessive nature proved useful, the religious heads thought her ambition was useful and put her to work under their best. Sofina continued to excel, catching the leaders off guard as they expected her to serve as an example for other peasants but not as a real contender. They quickly began to sabotage her hopes of success, harshly critiquing her, misgrading her work, and even beginning to hand out administrative action without cause. Sofina took it all in stride, her goals were clear, she would be a church leader. In her eyes, her faith was leagues stronger than her peers.

Even with so many demerits to her name and 'poor' academic performance Sofina graduated from the top religious school in Inntala. She was presented along with her class to Queen Austairia who ruled at the time. Queen Austairia had an odd method she had adopted to single out the most devoted and enacted it on the graduating class. She staged a fake siege, locking them all in the room, claiming they were trapped by rebels. Many panicked, others hid away in the great hall, hoarding whatever food they had with them. Not Sofina, she knelt before the queen, begged forgiveness, and offered herself up first as food if it were to come to extreme measures, anything to keep them from succumbing to a rebel siege. Queen Austairia laughed at her but was impressed by her candor. She called off the siege immediately and brought Sofina to her feet. Austairia ordered the execution of all those who had hidden away to hoard their food and gave meager low-ranking jobs to those who had panicked. Sofina however was placed as an apprentice under the current head of the church.

After nearly a decade as a head priest but not the head priest, the head of the church died and Sofina had the place that she longed for at last. After decades of serving under Austairia, Sofina is determined to serve under Elbrecht for the rest of her life.
